Although it's been a few years since the hotel was renovated, it still looks quite nice. The service is very thoughtful—we happened to stay during Mid-Autumn Festival, and they even delivered mooncakes 🥮 to our room 😁
The front desk staff member Xiaoyu provided excellent service and upgraded our room. The hotel is in a good location with convenient transportation and free parking. There are many restaurants nearby, making it very easy to find food.
Took a taxi from Zhangjiakou Railway Station to the hotel for 11.8 yuan. The room was clean and comfortable, with very comfortable pillows and quilt. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and provided facial cleanser, toner, and body lotion, plus free tumble dry and mending services, which was very thoughtful.…

Star-rated hotels — especially chains and anything four-star and above — almost always register foreign passports as routine. Smaller local hotels sometimes lack the foreign-guest license. Since 2024 hotels officially may not refuse foreign guests: if refused, call or SMS 12345. Book refundable when unsure.

China's official hotel star rating is assessed by tourism authorities (GB/T 14308 standard): ★★★ = comfortable and reliable, ★★★★ = high-end with full services, ★★★★★ = luxury. It certifies quality, not foreign-guest policy — that's why we flag it separately.
Set up Alipay or WeChat Pay with your foreign Visa/Mastercard before you fly — QR payments work at virtually every hotel. Foreign credit cards are accepted at the front desk of most star-rated hotels. Full payments guide →
