Stayed at Futian Shangri-La in Shenzhen with family. The easiest part was heading to Hong Kong the next day—just a few steps to Futian High-Speed Railway Station. The Futian CBD area is quiet, and this established five-star feels reliable. Comfortable bedding, close to malls, easy for dining and shopping. A very…

It's right above Futian Station, very easy to find. The day I checked in, the hotel was apparently hosting an exhibition, so the front desk was a bit busy and my room wasn't ready yet. After waiting and asking again, they upgraded my room for me. The hotel staff's service was excellent, and I was very satisfied with…

The room was very spacious, with a separate walk-in closet and a bathtub, and the view was great. Breakfast had a wide variety, and it was my first time having congee at a hotel breakfast! There are tennis and pickleball courts on the 4th floor, but they require a separate paid booking.

Good to know

Does this hotel accept foreign guests?

Star-rated hotels — especially chains and anything four-star and above — almost always register foreign passports as routine. Smaller local hotels sometimes lack the foreign-guest license. Since 2024 hotels officially may not refuse foreign guests: if refused, call or SMS 12345. Book refundable when unsure.

How do I get there?

Show the big Chinese name above to any taxi or DiDi driver, or tap Find in Amap for turn-by-turn navigation. The Chinese name is what drivers read — English names are rarely recognized.

What does the star rating mean?

China's official hotel star rating is assessed by tourism authorities (GB/T 14308 standard): ★★★ = comfortable and reliable, ★★★★ = high-end with full services, ★★★★★ = luxury. It certifies quality, not foreign-guest policy — that's why we flag it separately.

How do I pay there?

Set up Alipay or WeChat Pay with your foreign Visa/Mastercard before you fly — QR payments work at virtually every hotel. Foreign credit cards are accepted at the front desk of most star-rated hotels. Full payments guide →
