The county town isn't that big, but the bosses in real estate, mining, and construction all have plenty of idle cash on hand. Spending 60 million on a landmark building preserves value and brings prestige. Plus, it's in the core area of Tongle New District with front-row river views, so the land alone is worth a lot.
There were mosquitoes in the room, several of them, and I got bitten awake multiple times at night. There's a sensor light or something on the wall that automatically turns on every so often, which would drive anyone who prefers dark sleep crazy. Breakfast was pretty basic.
This stay was a good experience overall, though it feels better suited for self-driving trips or families. Pros first: the service was genuinely good.
